State Scenarios: Choose a Challenge!
These scenarios will help you learn how the ECTA System Framework can help you navigate your state's challenges:
Governance
Some local entities in your state are not implementing state regulations or other policies consistently. Some question the authority of the state to require them to comply.
Choose GovernanceFinance
An unusually high increase in child count in the last three years has resulted in your agency leadership requesting a short- and long-term plan to contain costs and maximize all available resources.
FinancePersonnel / Workforce
You want to focus on improving the inclusion of children with disabilities in programs across the state. You would like both the planning and provision of training and TA to be cross-sector.
Choose Personnel / WorkforceData System
Your current data system has very limited capability to produce reports for your local programs/districts. They can export all of the data to create their own reports, but you want to develop both standard and ad hoc reports that state staff and providers can access online. Your team has been asked to develop this reporting capability in order to promote data use in your state.
Choose Data SystemAccountability and Quality Improvement
Local service providers are pleased about your state's plans to revise the general supervision system to move from a strictly compliance focus to one that includes program quality and improved performance, but express concern about their responsibility for child outcomes improvement.
Choose Accountability and Quality ImprovementQuality Standards
Local EI/ECSE programs or agencies in your state are not consistently using your state's high quality child level standards. They identify barriers such as lack of time, lack of skills, and need for guidance and TA.
