The purpose of the Parental Information and Resource Centers (PIRC) program is to help implement successful and effective parental involvement policies, programs, and activities that lead to improvements in student academic achievement and strengthen partnerships among parents, teachers, principals, administrators, and other school personnel in meeting the educational needs of children.

2. Migrant Education Even Start Family Literacy Program - Notice Inviting Applications for New Awards

Migrant Education Even Start Family Literacy grants are intended to help break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy of migratory agricultural or fishing families by improving the educational opportunities of these families through the integration of early childhood education, adult literacy or adult basic education, and parenting education into a unified family literacy program. 4. Regional Educational Lab Contracts Awarded

The U.S. Education Department has awarded new 5-year contracts to 10 Regional Educational Laboratories charged with carrying out research, development, dissemination, training, and technical assistance activities.
