Biographical Statement for Peggy Hayden
Peggy Hayden has been a special education teacher and state Department of Education administrator, a regional early intervention (Birth through 5) agency director, and a consultant to national, state and local education and human service agencies and organizations. She has been the principal investigator and consultant to federally funded demonstration and outreach projects including projects related to early childhood transition and interagency collaboration. She has chaired several state and local interagency and advisory groups. She has provided keynotes, developed numerous publications, and done awareness and in-depth training and facilitation at national, state and local levels on working with advisory groups and boards; interagency collaboration; group facilitation and training strategies; paraprofessionals/ teacher assistants; early childhood transition; organizational development; passing state legislation; and win-win conflict resolution. Honors include: KY Division for Early Childhood Contributor of the Year, 1990; KY Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) Member of the Year, 1986; KY CEC Special Education Administrator of the Year, 1983; and Special Education Teacher of the Year, KY Association for Retarded Citizens, 1972.
