The number of states across the country opting to integrate the child outcomes measurement process with the IFSP or IEP process continues to increase. Several states, including Kansas, North Carolina and Virginia are approaching this work in unique and innovative ways. Come to this session to hear how their experiences, collaboration and use of implementation science to support the work have resulted in a well-integrated outcomes and IFSP/IEP process.

Professional Development for the Child Outcomes Summary Process: Updates and Innovations

This session will highlight current work to update and sustain professional development for the Child Outcomes Summary (COS) Process, as well as link the COS to other program elements (e.g., early learning standards). Two states will share their innovative approaches to professional development for their Part C and 619 programs. Updates will also be provided about national resources in development, including online COS modules and the COS Competency Check.

Find out the latest about the validity and reliability of ratings using the Child Outcomes Summary (COS) process from the ENHANCE project. Examine findings from video data in the team decision-making study and discuss how the findings fit with your experiences. Lessons learned from work with local programs and implications for the validity and reliability of COS data also will be discussed.
