How can EI/ECSE programs develop more effective systems that support implementation of recommended practices? The System Framework provides indicators of a high quality system and is designed to guide states in evaluating and improving systems. The Comprehensive EC System Building: A Tool to Inform Discussions on Collaborative, Cross-Sector Planning is designed to help state and community leaders improve the functioning of their early childhood system. The tools plus strategies and state examples will be shared.

Now that we have the revised DEC Recommended Practices, what will it take to ensure implementation within local programs? Join us for a discussion about the implementation and scaling up approach that ECTA is guiding for program-wide implementation of DEC Recommended Practices within Part C and Section 619 services. ECTA will describe the key activities of the model and Minnesota Department of Education leaders will describe their investment in this effort and progress to date.

The revised DEC Recommended Practices are out! Now what? What will your state need to put into place in order to support implementation of recommended practices? Presenters will provide an overview to the Recommended Practices and facilitate focused discussion around three areas: assessment, family, and teaming/collaboration. Then presenters and participants will look at implications for systems supports governance, finance, personnel, quality standards, data, and accountability and monitoring for ensuring a high quality EI/ECSE system.
