Juliann J. Woods, Associate Professor, Department of Communication Disorders, Florida State University, teaches and conducts research in early communication development and intervention, family centered services, and intervention in natural environments. She is currently directing research and demonstration projects in family-guided routines, intervention with young children with autism spectrum disorders, and strategies to enhance effectiveness and generalization of caregiver implemented interventions.

As the Director of Clinical and Distance Education, she is actively involved in preservice training in the Tallahassee Professional Development Schools Network focusing on improving the language and literacy outcomes for preschool children in high poverty areas and for students with autism. Research and training projects include TaCTICS Outreach and Family-guided Routines-based Intervention focusing on intervention in natural environments for young children with disabilities and their caregivers. Additional collaborative projects include Positive Beginnings, a project of National Significance, addressing inservice needs of caregivers and service providers working with young children with disabilities in natural environments and the Early Social Interaction model demonstration project for young children at risk for autism.
