Experience

Prior to accepting her appointment at FIPP, M'Lisa was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Science at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She served as a consultant to Oklahoma's SoonerStart Early Intervention Program from 1990 to 2002. M'Lisa is a graduate Fellow of the ZERO TO THREE National Center for Infants, Toddlers, and Their Families and she has also served as Regional Director for Region VII, Section of Pediatrics, American Physical Therapy Association. M'Lisa has co-authored several articles related to early intervention teamwork and a chapter related to physical therapy personnel preparation and service delivery. She co-authored a book entitled, Physical Therapy under IDEA. M'Lisa is also the co-author of Coaching Families and Colleagues in Early Childhood Intervention published in 2004.

M'Lisa presents nationally on the topics related to motor learning, transition, inclusion, evaluation and assessment, primary service provider as coach, and provision of services in natural environments. She has worked with a number of states and local early intervention programs to assist administrators and practitioners regarding how to provide supports for families in natural settings.

Experience

Prior to accepting his position at FIPP, Dathan was a clinical assistant professor and personnel development consultant in the Lee Mitchener Tolbert Center for Developmental Disabilities at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. He served as Assistant Director of the Oklahoma SoonerStart Early Intervention Program at the State Department of Health from 1992- 1999. He served as an Editorial Board Member of Infants and Young Children until 2002, and has published articles in the area of inservice training, coaching, supporting children and families in natural learning environments, and teaming in early intervention. He is past president and former executive council member of the Oklahoma Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Dathan co-authored the text Coaching Families and Colleagues in Early Childhood Intervention published in 2004. Dathan has presented numerous workshops statewide and nationally on topics related to team-building, primary service provider as coach, training of trainers, coaching, and provision of supports in natural environments. In addition, he has provided ongoing consultation to a number of states and local early intervention programs to assist administrators and practitioners in how to provide supports for families in natural settings.
