The National Center for Research on Early Childhood Education (NCRECE) has released a white paper entitled Ensuring Effective Teaching in Early Childhood Education Through Linked Professional Development Systems, Quality Rating Systems and State Competencies: The Role of Research In an Evidence-Driven System, by Carollee Howes, Robert Pianta, Donna Bryant, Bridget Hamre, Jason Downer, and Sandra Soliday-Hong. 3. National Trends in Helping Low–Income Working Families Pay for Child Care

A new brief from the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) examines national trends in funds directed to child care from the Child Care and Development Block Grant and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Block Grant. It is based on 2006 expenditure data released in October 2008 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
